TiP Technique Analysis: A quote from coach Fred Loyer
In spring and summer 2019 we helped former NZL men’s kayak squad coach Fred Loyer optimize the performance of the NZL men K2 1000m.
The pair of Max Brown and Kurtis Imrie led by coach Loyer placed 6th at the Poznan World Cup I, Kurtis finished 3rd and 4th in his K1 at the U23 World Championships as well. The couple didn’t qualify for Tokyo 2020 OG at the Szeged Worlds, but eventually qualified for the Games this year at the Oceania qualification.
Based on the data collected by their coach during sessions and world cup races we could provide Fred Loyer with lots of info obtained with our H-graph and E-graph performance analysis.
Coach and crew could identify better what were their weaknesses and compare it to the analysis of the best K2 crews in the world that we provided as well. The H-graph and the E-graph are tremendous tools developed by Andrea Pace and you can read about them in the download documents on our Free Resources page.
This is a quote from coach Fred Loyer after their 2019 season:
”The comprehension of the athlete’s race is critical. Understanding the race plan of each crew with objective data and easy graphs to visualize it all, compare performances from race to race and compare ourselves with the best helped me to deliver the right message to the athletes and work on the details of the preparation. This all helped me also to organize different training goals to put in place on the water.”
