Spring is back at TiP and so are the paddlers
Actually they never really left. During the winter the Serbian national team had a total of 5 weeks spent in the cross country and biathlon training center in Pokljuka. We were really proud to see the likes of sprinter Marko Dragosavljević or the members of the Serbian K4 roaming excitedly in the deep forests of Pokljuka. And we can tell you the xc-skis really look tiny under these big boys!
Also the Slovenian national rowing team, canoe downriver, canoe slalom and canoe sprint teams were in the TiP area for their yearly xc-camps. And most of all our national Biathlon and xc-ski team had their final camps here before leaving to Sochi OG and they both medaled!
But spring is here now! The rowing course on lake Bled is in the water already, the 3km course on lake Bohinj will be put in at the end of March and young kayakers from local clubs are frolicking on all the lakes since long before snow was gone!
On March 22nd there will be the first water sports competition of the season in TP: the Slovenian national 5km flatwater kayaking competition (one finds it hard to call it a srint race). Followed on April 5-6th by the ICF ranking slalom competition in Solkan (Soča river). While the rowers will open their competition season in TP with the 55th annual rowing regatta on April 26-27th on lake Bled.
