Neerpeltse Watersport Club visit Training in Paradise
Neerpeltse Watersport Club from Belgium visited Training in Paradise’s lake Most na Soči in late July this year for a 9 day training camp. They were over 40 athletes and some more coaches and parents carrying with them a huge load of training boats.
The fleet on the lake suddenly tripled upon their arrival. Among them there were some excellent juniors like Hermien Peters (crowned double junior K1 European champ a week before visiting us) and members of the Belgian downriver K1 classic team that later in the season medaled at the Junior down river Europeans on the Training in Paradise’s river Soča (some 30 km’s downstream from our lake).
The TiP team is very happy they took time from training on Most na Soči lake to visit also the Bled and Bohinj lakes. We are proud such a successful and big club like this has chosen our triangle of lakes for their annual training camp!
One of the organizers of the visit and Belgian U23 team member Toon Broex had this to say after their visit
“We expected the environment to be beautiful but what we experienced was far beyond our imagination. The rest given by the nature and the friendliness of the inhabitants created perfect training circumstances for us.”
