Australian Youth Olympics Team training on lake Bohinj
We have the pleasure to wellcome the Australian Youth Olympics Team on our lake in Bohinj. The 31 strong Australian team (27 athletes and 4 coaches) is lead by the seasoned team leader Christine Duff. Among the coaches there is also David Smith, member of the 2012 australian Olympic gold medal winning K4.
The athletes will be using lake Bohinj for their final preparation camp (15 days) before taking part in the 2016 Olympic Hopes regatta which will be hled in Szeged this year (22-25th September).
The coaches and athletes are visibly excited about this location and the conditions on lake Bohinj and it’s surroundings providing high performance training and leisure. Mrs.Duff words make us very proud:
‘The Australian Junior Olympic Hopes Team can’t wait to get back to Bohinj for another training camp. Great pre training organisation, sensational training lake – crystal clear and wind free. The people were friendly and all spoke English which made communication simple for all of us. Its one of the most beautiful training locations we have ever been to. Rest days at Bled and Lubijana added to the experience.”
