Training Paradise area hosting the Slalom & Downriver Junior European Championships
Solkan wildwater center (laying on the most southeren point of Training in Paradise) hosted 2 Junior European Championships this year.
On the last weekend of August the Junior downriver Europeans were taking place. Slovenia got 3 medals. Anja Kancler who finished 3rd in C1 women classic individual race is originally from Solkan. While Rok Markočič and Matic Klobučar who were members of the gold medal winning K1 sprint race team are also living and training in Training in Paradise.
One week later Solkan was hosting the Junior&U23 Slalom Europeans. Slovenia got 3 medals on the championships. The most emphatic win for the roaring crowd went to the locals Sašo Taljat and Luka Božič in the U23 C2. All in all a great 10 days on and of the water for the hosting club from Solkan.
